Dr. Allen Berger, Ph.D. has a 7pm (Pacific Time) Thursday night Emotional Sobriety 12 step meeting on zoom that is open to any 12 step folks. It’s not a specifically “secular” meeting, but it’s a well attended and starts with a guest speaker for about 15 minutes and then sharing. Here’s the info: https://zoom.us/j/330149513
We’re about a week away from the Emotional Sobriety Webinar! It’s pretty exciting. We have a lot of people registered for the event, and the panelists are all getting prepared. BTW, if you haven’t read Allen Berger’s book 12 Smart Things to Do When the Booze and Drugs Are Gone: Choosing Emotional Sobriety through Self-Awareness and Right Action . (Hazelden Publishing), then we highly recommend it! And Marya Hornbacher’s Waiting: A Nonbeliever’s Higher Power (also from Hazelden) is one of our all-time favorite books! If you just enjoy great writing and a good story, you’ll enjoy Marya’s book.
BTW, in case you were wondering, while we are a secular AA group, that doesn’t mean you have to be an atheist or an agnostic to enjoy the meetings. A lot of our members are neither, but love the freethinking approach to sober living!
